De Anza College's site re-design omitted most of Euphrat Museum of Art's past exhibitions. We have recovered and archived the content here for historical purposes. Detailed information on the Euphrat Museum's exhibitions and programs between 2004 and 2011 is stored on this page. The webpage appears as it did in 2011.

"What would we do without the Euphrat? Our schoolchildren learn so much when they go to the museum and when Euphrat Artist/Teachers come here. The staff and artists are helpful, sensitive, and inspiring. I look forward to more collaboration with this wonderful institution."

Dale Jones, Nimitz Elementary School Principal

"It takes a lot to pry a 10 year old out of Super Nintendo for an hour, let alone 10 weeks, but your program did it. Fantastic! You are appreciated!! Glad to see personally, as a fine arts alumni at De Anza, that my son is experiencing the talent also, that Euphrat has to offer! Bravo!"

Ariane Alexander, parent

"The art classes gave me more resources and time to express myself. My favorite project was the one where I was able to honor my grandmother and father. Since taking this class I draw and write poetry a lot more. It really helped my mind to be more creative."

Vanessa, 7th grade, Columbia Middle School

"I learned that in art you can keep going and change something that you think is a mistake. Then you can be even happier that you made a mistake into something beautiful."

5th Grader, Braly School

  • After-School Art Program enables professional artists to conduct yearlong art classes for third through eight grade students at several Sunnyvale schools with high numbers of at-risk youth. Over 2,900 student-hours of free after-school art instruction were provided.

  • School Recess Camp is a new program started in 2010 in partnership with Columbia Neighborhood Center and the City of Sunnyvale’s Department of Community Services. About 910 student hours of art instruction were provided.

  • Fee-Based After-School Program serves seven Cupertino Union School District schools and provided over 2,550 student-hours of instruction.

  • Teaching Tours are arranged for school children during major Euphrat exhibitions. Over 600 students participated in field trips facilitated by Euphrat artist/teachers.

  • Extended Year Program is offered in several Cupertino Union School District elementary and middle schools. Around 13,100 student hours of during-school instruction were provided.

  • After-school and weekend art classes are offered in partnership with the Quinlan Community Center in Cupertino. Over 7,000 student hours of instruction were provided.

  • Arts & Schools Program Community Exhibitions and Events enables elementary school students to grow in self-esteem through public recognition of their work. We have placed rotating exhibits throughout the year at elementary and middle schools, the Cupertino Fall Festival, the Cherry Blossom Festival in Cupertino, and other community venues. An estimated 11,000 people viewed these exhibitions.

  • Annual Collaborative Art Project addresses community themes. For example, the mural Our Sunnyvale Community: Growth and Unity in nearby Fair Oaks Park combines images of play and cooperation, with images of City Hall and Community Gardens.
